I think that cats are pretty clever but mainly don't respond to training because they couldn't care less about it. My two have no trouble at all responding to being called for food, but are pretty selective about anything else.
Anyway, here is one that seems to enjoy it as much as dogs do.
I have always presumed that cats allowed us to think we were in charge, because we could use a dagger/can opener. However they have been training us from day one in Egypt. I can imagine one cat saying to another "we have spent hundreds of years trying to tell them not to wake us for two hours after lunch, they must be a bit dim, as they are still doing it" and "when did they forget that we hold God status?". "Why do they think the birds and frogs are gifts? I am only showing them what I want for my teatime snack".
Dogs have masters, Cats have slaves! My 5 have me very well trained, whereas I love the lighter days, do they really have to wake me at 5am cos it’s light and they want breakfast!!
That is sooo funny. I still miss my Seuss terribly. Cats are the most wonderful companions. Thanks for the funny link.
It's said: if you call a dog, it will come to you, but if you call a cat - it'll get back to you!
I don't know whether they're just a bit slow on the uptake, or whether they can't be bothered, but any creature afraid of cucumbers just has to be suspicious...
