good morning all

i was admitted into hospital a couple of weeks ago with a lung and kidney infections, on drip 48 hours, oxygen 3 days. Discharged on course of Prednisilone 5mgs tabs cutting down over a couple of weeks. Since then i have been more lethargic, cold, shivering, irritable, B/P had plunged as has my Sats, i am very thirsty, not interested in eating. where i would get some benefits for energy. all i want to do is sleep. even getting dressed this morning took me two hours. I am sure others must have experienced the same thing, but how did you cope? even my eyes appear to be different they are cloudy. any suggestions would also be of use. Thank you in anticipation. go with care. Spooks 36

Good Morning. I would suggest phoning your GP. You might need an appointment or they might be happy to go through things over the phone. Phone as soon as the surgery opens. If you don’t phone them, you will worry. They should have an idea of why you are feeling so rough. They should also have a copy of the hospital discharge summary.

Let us know how you get on.

Basically you need to go back to your GP. Personally I would ask to see a dietician in the short term to try and find answers to your poor appetite. Secondly having both a lung and kidney infection it will take time to recover. From my own experience of having pneumonia and septicemia it took me many months before I felt anywhere near my old self. From memory for the first two or three weeks after discharge I slept and ate and slept some more. Your body is not just going to get better overnight. Give yourself time.

I echo what the others have said, contact your GP today and explain your symptoms, your low blood pressure and SATS , and your recent medical history.

I know it's a Monday, but it's also coming up to the long Easter break, so you need advice and a check before then.

If you can't get an appointment, phone 111 for advice.

I think you need to contact your GP.re the getting dressed. Have you tried putting on your dressing gown, then getting dressed later.

Sometimes helps if you lay your clothes out the night before. Hope this helps
