My husband was on ambulatory oxygen for breathlessness for the last three weeks. When he saw his IPF consultant this week we were amazed to be told his condition hadn't changed and his lung function was just the same as nine months ago. He has now made an urgent referral to his cardiologist and a C T scan.He has mild aortic stenosis which may have worsened. He is on 6 lpm but is too fatigued to walk anywhere . He spends a lot of time dozing and sleeps for 8 hours each night.I don't know which is the most worrying ,his IPF or the stenosis .Any thoughts or advice appreciated. We should have been starting a cruise to the Canaries tomorrow ,which we had to cancel and still waiting for the insurance to pay

Oxygen not for IPF but pulmonary artery
Shangrilla, personally i think you and your hubby should concentrate on the cardiac issue, the IPF appears to be stable and there has been little or no serious progression according to his consultant which bodes well.best wishes for the future.

Hello shangrila27 .
I'm not sure what to suggest, but I just wanted to say take it a day at a time. Hopefully, if they sort out his cardiac condition, it will help him overall and he can regain some of his strength and feel better. I'm so sorry about your holiday. Once he feels better, I hope you can plan the next one. Sending love,

Hi I am surprised your husband was prescribed oxygen for breathless as it is usually give coz your sats are too low and is used to protect the other organs.
Sorry about your holiday and hope you manage to get one later. x
Sorry I was wrong,it was because of his oxygen levels. He is not using the oxygen on a daily basis ,he always has some excuse ,too cold ,too windy, and literally just sits in a chair all day.He is ex military ,22years,and this condition has knocked him sideways.I don't know what else I can do.
Hi shangrila, so sorry to hear of your hubbys problems, you must be worried sick, I wish I could offer some advice, just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you and hope he gets sorted soon. Holidays can be re-booked, just deal with the now. Irene x
