Still no diagnosis

Had lung function tests this week. Hubby managed really well. No indication of results and did say 2 months before appt to discuss results. Hope not. Been over two months of tests and no consultant appt. he didn’t have 6 minute test. They said he might get called back for it. Maybe ct was wrong. Surely he would have discussion with consultant by now if it is ILD. Calling consultant sec tomorrow in hope all tests are now back, they don’t want any more and he can finally see consultant and find out whether he can get his life back. Work won’t stay patient for ever....

I hope your husband gets the results sooner than two months! It’s good he’s been having tests though, it’s a step in the right direction, to find out what’s going on. I don’t have any helpful advice to offer, I just wanted to send very best wishes to you both.

Sadly, the length of time to diagnose ILD takes a long time.

I do know from my own experience, that patients are discussed regularly at Multi Disciplinary meetings. These involve members of different medical specialisms and, pharmacists and I think radiologists.

They review all the tests and discuss.i know from experience the waiting is awful.

It sounds a good idea to ring the secretary, she may be able to give you information about how the process works.

I have had the 6 minute walk test,I haven’t yet had the oxygen test.maybe I will have it next week. Take care of yourself and your husband

I have my CT Scan This afternoon. I will go crazy if I had to wait 2 months for results. I need to establish where my Dislodged Valves have gone, No longer working so Time is of the essence for me. Good luck to your Husband for all results. xxxx

Good luck this afternoon. I'm sure it wont be 2 months really. Just onus is on patients to hurry stuff up and avoid getting stuck in the system somewhere. Hope you feel better soon

I saw a consultant in July last year and had a whole battery of blood tests and an x-ray at that time. Since then, I have had a lung function test and a couple of heart scans and I am still waiting for any results. I have an appointment on the 14th April and I am hoping that I will finally get some answers.

I do hope your husband gets his results sooner rather than later.

Wow, I am so sorry. That must be so unbelievably difficult. Really wish there was a way to speed up the process. The longer it takes the longer before people receive treatment. I guess it must be unavoidable and they don't know everything. I hope you receive a diagnosis and some treatment really soon x
