Hi Kelly welcome, when I went to pulmonary therapy there was a lady there who found eating hard as it was an effort to eat and breathe . I think her husband said he bought her complan to try and get her to drink so she at least got vitamins, nutrients and minerals. I think she found that hard to take as well. Perhaps ring your GP for advice that would be better.

Let us know how you get on xx

Hi Kelly and welcome to the forum. You’re amongst friends here. I hope your dear mum is getting all the medical help she needs.

It’s hard to care for someone you love when they’re so ill. I hope you’re taking good care of yourself too. Take care xxxxx

Hello and welcome.

Hi Kelly,

I found egg flips ( milk, beaten egg, malt, protein powder and ice cream put into the blender) was an effective way for my husband to have vitamins and nutrients. Easy and tasty to drink.

Also home made soup, with all the vegies, some chicken or meat plus pearl barley - cooked and mashed, then put through the blender - is easy to eat.

Keep strong.

Gave her something for thrush, she's thinking the trimbow has gave her it so hopefully that will help her.

Well, lets hope that does the trick, inhalers can cause thrush, just make sure she has a drink of water after using one x

Hello Kelly3. Are you coping with your caring responsibilities? Do you have any help? Hope so.

Just the nurses not anyone to really talk to that's why I came on here, x

Welcome, Kelly3. Your mum is so fortunate to have you there helping her. It can be very lonely caring for someone. Do speak to the nurses about a respite break if you need one to get out and about occasionally.

Just a quick "hello " Kelly3 and also "hello there" to your mum. So brilliant that you've managed to find us here and you'll find it so easy to fit in. Ask anything, literally,as so many members have been through the ups and downs of being a carer for a loved one. When you feel you need to let off steam, then do so in here....most of us do from time to time, lol! Then the knowledge that our members have, 99% of it being gained through personal experience, is invaluable and we often know more than our GP's & Consultants.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi sorry I have took so long to reply just been busy at work, mum's not great to be honest I don't think she has long left she is exhausted all the time, and doesn't want to get out of bed but she does which gives me a little piece of hope. But then back to bed after an hour, I'm raging 1 of the nurses called today for 5 mins didn't even stop to talk, so I'm not happy. Rant over x
