Ah yes! The lovely 'Medi'. π I call her that because her designer Barry Stimpson named her La Meditteranee and that name is displayed all around her. She has an appointment for a full service next week and is waiting for me to do a bit better at my PR classes.
I also had an affair with that hussy '95 all those years ago. Dialup bulleting boards before that too, with the familiar whistling tones of a 14.2 kps modem. Then the WWW started with just 4 of us in Southampton online. Windows ten on my phone (no choice) .Windows 7 & Linux Mint as my mistress, on my desktop.
Memories eh? I loved CompuServe and couldn't believe it when AOL took it over. I always considered CompuServe far the better of the two. When travelling I used to ask "Can I use you phone for a minute please" and whip out my laptop.
Iβll tell you about when I first met Midge. We picked her up from a farm in Morecombe. The farmerβs wife invited us in for tea and biscuits whilst one of her children went to get the last pup left. Much to my wifeβs horror the child came back with it and plonked it on the table, where it promptly peed on my biscuit. That was my Midge and weβve been friends ever since.
I don't know about double entendre but you had me fooled. When I read 'site' in the title I thought I was about to read a homage to our wonderful Healthunlocked SITE and the first few lines confirmed this. You wily man.
Would you like to add a 'd' on the end of move Cap'n?
I would love to do that my eagle eyed friend and I'll add a 's' on the end of Window whilst I'm there. So nice to have you back Margaret, I was becoming unintelligible. π
Had to ask Tony about Windows? I have an Apple ipad, that's all I know. He tells me that's microsoft, sounds complicated! Good rhyme though! Love Iris x
In the early days MicroSoft Windows had far more software available for it than Apple so was by far the more popular. Now I use both, my MacBook talks to my iPhone, my iPad my iPod and in fact my Windows 10 desktop, the boundaries have been removed. There are other operating systems, 2greys uses Linux for example.
Passing on your comments to Tony, he s your age group I think, born September 1929. He's talking about the days of 'hard drive' ? now. He s not happy with the computer he has, always talking about changing it, not had it long. Its a Hewlett Packard tablet, that's all I know. x
We are, I was born November 1931. I think if Tony thought back really hard he would be talking about cassette tape storage. Before that when you switched off your computer you lost everything. I've given up trying to keep up with technology, I've got a house full of obsolete gadgets. I can't stop myself buying the latest Kindle versions. I bought the first to save space on my bookshelves and now I have more Kindles than I had books!π
