PIP = 1 point short of the higher rate of care

I have severe COPD and recently been reassessed 12 month early. I have just realised that I am one point short of receiving the higher rate of care. I receive the higher rate of mobility and the standard care. I get my meds in dosett packs and need extra help with my food now. I also have syncope which is fainting when my oxygen levels drop. Has anyone challenged an assessment. I am so scared of rocking the boat that I daren't apply Anyone successful?

Tell them how your condition has changed recently and how it affects you on a daily basis. They have to take these new changes into account, so it is always worth challenging any decisions. There are people who can help you with this sort of claim , as administration if there is someone on here who can help you. I'm sure there will be. You take care of yourself and let us know how you get on. Good luck and have a wonderful day 😊 Bernadette xx

Yes I challenged it for reassessment and was awarded higher rate on pip and anything that will affect you on your worst day and look at previous answers to clarify if you missed out on how bad your ability is and don't give up

I am waiting for them to see if they will change their decision under reconsideration not heard yet they gave me 0 for care and 10 points medium rate mobility I'm empyhsemic stage 4 and have a wedge fracture of my spine and osterporsis of hip and back but appantly I don't need any help 😠 I'm struggling they said I am only getting mid rate mobility for 2 yrs as it might change grrrrr disgusting I hope they recognise how I'll I am

Request a 'manditory reconsidera ' which you ha 28 days to file. Give them any additional information you have plus GP and Consultants reports which if you don't have your GP will have. You MUST list your health problems on your worst day and do not say that every day is different furthermore, list what help you get from family and friends - cutting up food, making food etc. Another question are you on oxygen? If so tell them and if you are on higher rate mobility and under age65 you can get a mobility car. If I can help further contact me.
