Oh do I remember the "fits of the munchies" I had on steroids, my bed room is next to the kitchen, some of the conversations I used to have with myself about not getting more food were hysterical. You know the good Angel on the Right shoulder and the Red Devil on the Left. I used to have a bread making machine, but had to get rid of it, as would be eating hot bread in the middle of the night!!!

Blackbird6 profile image

I'm so not used to steroids and the I wanna eat diet that goes with it but I will eat anything in sight at the moment and it's not all good food lol 3 days left then back to chicken and greens lol xx

I had been off oral steroids for 15 months! But had to start back today. Soo frustrating. I'm not looking forward to the munchies.

Blackbird6 profile image

It's not normal and the food thing is crazy while eating one thing I think about the next thing I can eat x

Let them take the food from your mouth, friends forever then ;) I hope you get back to your normal self very soon, until then take it steady.

Still doing okay thank you. I thought I was going to have to close the workshop in a few days, the end of my working life. Last week I landed a lot of work, so now really busy, hopefully I can build up the coffers after a very dismal 6 months work wise. So very close to having to close the business. 12 hour days in the workshop at the moment, 06:30 till 18:30, very, very tired when I get home at night, but will be doing normal 8 hours again next week, 12 hours is just too long for me now.

Blackbird6 profile image
Blackbird6 in reply to 2greys

That's really great news regarding not having to close and getting more in hand. 12 hours is too long for any person stick to 8 and less if you can on certain days.

Time out is good even if it's just a day to rest and have lunch with some friends in the not too distant future when spring has sprung lol xx

That’s great news that the work is picking up again. I have a feeling the end of your working life is a long way off still.

Wow that is SO COOL👍 Is that close by your house or down at a lake in your neighborhood? I’m just curious how close he lets you get or is it something like a city park where the animals get accustom to the humans? I have a pair of hummingbirds that come by at different parts of the year and this year it seems a new bunch of lizards were born here and one has stayed and seems to really want to be my friend he got in the house and found his own way out. Creatures are the greatest thanks for the pic

Blackbird6 profile image
Blackbird6 in reply to Sandyeggo

Hi Sandyeggo it's pretty local some let you get close to feed but at this point in the year they are starting to tidy the nests for the female and the mating so they can get pretty annoyed and hiss if you get too close . Humming birds are amazing as are lizards I don't know how I would feel if one got in my house and wanted to stay lol xx

Gorgeous picture, Blackbird! Thanks for posting it. I passed a pond in the country last week with a pair of black swans and quite gawky cignets. Absolutely beautiful. I was gobsmacked but didn’t think to reach for my camera....sorry!

Take care 🦢🦢🦢

Mornin breathezee how lovley for you seeing black swans quite a rarity sometimes it's nice to keep the memory in your head and don't say sorry for not getting a pic maybe next time you see them have a great day 😊

Yatzy profile image
Yatzy in reply to Blackbird6

I’ll have a try....it was on an alternative route to my Mum’s so will go that way again sometime soon. But like you, I’m a bit nervous of getting too close to swans, especially with their young about.

Enjoy your day, blackbird. We’ve woken to a covering of snow here.....and still snowing ☃️

Quite beautiful ❄️

If you do post them would be great to see enjoy looking at the snow from inside sunny here but cold no snow as yet so off on a dog walk have a great day xx

Ok guys you got me at times I read you all chat back and forth and usually I can figure it out but what the heck does gibsmacked mean? LOL. There are a few people I could speak to mainly down at the beach and we could get into a conversation on surfing an it would be hard for you to follow a lot of the lingo, my own husband will often even say” you guys lost me” and walk away from a conversation

Yatzy profile image
Yatzy in reply to Sandyeggo

Well Sandy, I meant to write ‘gobsmacked’...I’ve put it right now....the dictionary gives ‘astounded’ for it. I think that’s about right, though not the most polite way of saying it!! 🙊

Blackbird6 profile image
Blackbird6 in reply to Sandyeggo

😂😂😂 shocked in a good way sometimes not so good but gobsmacked it's a good word and easy to use xx

Mornin Chinnchilla thankyou oh my these steroids are not good for any waistline such as mine is lol so yip Cornish pasty and beans at 4 in the morning are satisfying and sneaky ...I'm up and about had last week off cancelled all my dog walks to the detriment of my pocket but needs must ... been left with a cough that stirs me awake at every hour in the night back to work yesterday but slow lead walks for every crew I walk lol I can't be doing with chasing cocker spaniels German shepherds and any other furry just yet have a lovley day enjoy xxx

Maybe it’s just me but you mentioned freezing cold outside and chest infection. I’m no doctor and I do live in another country BUT last I check you’re supposed to stay ou of the cold when you’re sick! Although yes I’d go out in the snow ( that I dislike greatly) to walk one of my dogs if we didn’t have a big enough yard so I guess I have no room to talk huh( American expression meaning I am the same) have a good one🤙 What kind of dogs do you entertain? I just noticed your picture-it’s reaspberries! I had some last night in my smoothie and going out for more today. Raspberries, pineapple, spinach, juice and ice- I have an awesome blender👍We are packing for a big move an I keep telling my husband” oh don’t TOUCH my blender that will ride on my lap to the new house”

Blackbird6 profile image
Blackbird6 in reply to Sandyeggo

That maybe very true. But I dog walk and pet sit for a living so needs must and yep it's cold. I also took last week of work and felt worse sitting round the house sometimes you just need to get on with things to earn and make your wages or salary 😊😊😊

Sandyeggo profile image
Sandyeggo in reply to Blackbird6

Oh yes I agree! Presently I’m laying propped up in bed and my poor husband has to listen to me grumbling about the fantastic pain my shoulder and back which I know as soon as I get out of lazy mode and push through some stretching and work out, do some good walking, fresh air, I’ll be much better off. Vertigo puts me down though no matter my best intentions some days the dizzies win. Doc try’s to blame my heart or lungs for everything-lol

Sandyeggo in reply to Blackbird6

A dog caretaker that’s a cool job, it’s somewhat hard to make a living here doing it. They’re always opening a new doggie daycare or pet hotel around town and they just don’t last mainly bcuz of the rent of a facility being ubnoxiously high

Hello, I have just read your post about steroids and sleep deprivation! I have just had a short course of prednisolone and have been so wakeful at night. Never sleep too well anyway but steroids make it worse, and the hunger!! I hope that goes away because eating so much piles the weight on which doesn’t help with chest problems. Take care.

Blackbird6 profile image
Blackbird6 in reply to Collie4

Ah many thanks Collie I was on a short course and finished them a few days back but yes at 2am when you feel the need to munch a Cornish pasty or Hoover a lounge it's not so great lol I have also slept better since finishing them...hope you have a great day xx
