Transplant
You will probably have to ask the transplant team that question. Be prepared for bad news though. I am really sorry, but I believe I have read that there is a cut-off age of 65. Hopefully somebody else knows more than I do about this and give you a more definitive answer. I really do hope in this case, that I am so very wrong.
Thank you 2greys it makes me feel so humble when all you brilliant people are their sometimes just reading a reply helps me to cope with all that is coming my way at this time thank you so much everybody duff
Sorry 2 g's there is NO Cut off Age. You have to be fit enough to endure a Transplant. This is why I & Others have Kept ourselves Fit by hell or High water, I will have that Transplant...being Positive Hun. xxxx
In that case I am so pleased to be wrong.
Although, quote from the link:
"people over 65 years of age wouldn't be considered suitable for a single or double lung transplant (although those over 65 and otherwise healthy may be considered for a single lung transplant)"
So there is still some hope. I have fingers crossed. If it does not pan out, it is still not the end of the world, life still goes on, I can testify to that.
Hi Hun, Please read my Posts re Transplant. If you maintain a Good fitness & mental state there is no Cut off age, I am 66 and on the Transplant List, I am very much ready to have my Transplant. The Delay is waiting for a Match. Good Luck. XXX
