Suffice it to say, I walked further, ( and much to my own amazement, voluntarily, rather than under instruction and with reservation.) lifted more weight, cycled further and generally felt really good about my achievements today.
This after 4 lessons is such a difference from before I started the course. At one point whilst preparing to start another cycling session, instead of fearing the feeling of breathlessness I was about to feel, I actually remember my little brain thinking " come on, it's only breathlessness." I would never have been like that before, I was absolutely petrified by SOB.
If you are offered this PR course, please do yourself a HUGE favour and grasp it with both hands. You'll be glad you did.
Regards.

Thanks, I think your the only one who reads these, but I do appreciate your comments and will continue to let YOU know how things are going. I'll do it every Friday instead of twice weekly.
I'm on the waiting list which they said would be after Christmas. I did start had a few problems then kept getting chest infections so hopeful no hiccups or illnesses or bad weather when they ring after Christmas I'm looking forward to going. My hubby coming with me for moral support I get very anxious around other people and nervous. So he sits in the background with other partners so just waiting for the call
I was quite surprised when a physio said 'we want you to get out of breath'. It's something I'm good at. I've just been referred again, looking forward to it.
Just wait for your assessment at the end, it's so uplifting to see the improvements in only six weeks. Good on you Chris for you first winter back in Blighty
😁 I do read your posts though I haven’t commented. It’s great seeing your progress and really interesting to read about the pr sessions. Everything I know about breathing and exercise I’ve learned from people here so I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and knowledge because it’s helped me and taught me so much.
Thanks, I guess I was so excited at my results it was a bit dissapointing to think others weren't as enthusiastic. Silly of me really . Sorry to everyone..
That's how I feel about Rehab, in many of my Posts I have always pushed everyone to go for it, Some Areas though Don' offer it. Sad. I have had 5 Courses and have gained enough strength for Exercise Classes twice a week and The Gym. I do it all on Oxygen , But my Reason for Keeping Fit is to maintain a good body strength for a Pending Double Lung Transplant. I would love to go Swimming, all my Life in the sea( lived abroad for many years), Unfortunately my Consultant said it's a NO NO. Obvious Really. Good Luck to You Hun, Self help gives a good inner Self Worth... Carry on be strong & Positive. Love n Hugs. Carolina XXXX
Getting sob is nothing to be frightened of. I wish you could spend a working day with me. I am sob for at least 10 straight hours with working and exercising. Eventually, like me, you will get used to being sob and be able to cope, this is going to be your new life from now on. Hopefully you will learn about all the coping mechanisms at PR with all the recovery positions. It sounds as if you are enjoying PR which is how it should be
You have 16 likes so some of us are reading your posts and am sure more than the 16 likes. I think most of us are interested to hear the progress or any improvements any of us make through PR or our own exercise programs so I’m sure most will also appreciate your continuing updates as you progress through PR. There are people being newly diagnosed and just discovering this forum and who go back and read many old posts and posts like yours are a big encouragement to someone who may be very scared about their diagnosis.
Your posts are really helping me Chris! I’m on waiting list for PR but really scared about it! Definitely helping me in what to expect! Keep it up! Nell xx
