Hi , I am new here. I have had Bronchiectasis since I was 2years old, and I am now 67. Along the way I have developed Asthma and COPD. Have had a roller coaster of a ride with my health, but I always think on the positive side of my conditions and keep on fighting !

Welcome to you PoppyWillow. I love your positive attitude. My husband has that attitude too, it certainly helps. Take care. Xxxxx

Hello PoppyWillow and welcome. Like you, I have never known anything but living with my bronchiectasis and I am 68. For me, the fighting has mostly been against government complaicancy and discrimination (cf s get what we are denied) not helped by medical and public ignorance.

I have been lucky in that I was treated in my childhood by the only doctor who was trying to do anything for those with bronch and basically that treatment is the same as I have today. This gave me what I regard as a normal life with daily nuisances.

I have been with two good bronch experts since 1981 and I keep up with developments.

When I found this site I discovered that I wasn’t alone. Being used to fighting the bad times by myself it is a comfort to have those who understand the difficult or miserable days. I have had a lot of emotional support from all of the lovely people on here, whatever condition they are coping with. It has made a big difference.

Onwards and upwards!
