Different Generation aren't we. We all had to wear them over our Vests.(little white Rubbery Buttons). I am going to My Bro's 60th Birthday party this weekend, His wife put a Photo of him at 6 months old a B&W in a Romper Suit, I remember clearly my 4 younger Brothers all in Their Romper Suits. Thank Goodness Baby fashions Changed. xxxxx Stay Warm Carole & Pete. xxxxx

We have been putting on the central heating now and then, just tweak up the thermostat if a bit chilly morning or evening, The sun still has some warmth in it and our place soon warms up if we see a bit o f sun. Don, keep that vest on and get some thermals with sleeves for the cold days!
Yes,.I Remember liberty bodices, but I also remember chilblains, red knees and freezing cold bedroom! Iris x
Morning my Dear Iris, Yes I also remember the Freezing bed, We were a Big family so normally 3 to a Bed, Mum would Warm up the cast "Iron" (No Electric ones then Too poor) on the Big Black Fire Range , wrap it in Cloth and put it to the end of our bed, six little feet would soon be warm. This was in the late 50's & 60's, although sounds Victorian doesn't it. So much more we dealt with Growing up... xxx
You reminded me of our Domestic Science class, where we used flat irons which we placed around a central stove which heated these irons . We had cloths to hold them of course but the potential for nasty accidents horrifies me today, health and safety eh! Girls walking to and fro with hot irons from tables to stove, my goodness, but then, there was a war on so danger was everywhere.
By the time I got married in 1956 we still had no indoor toilet or bathroom in my parents' house, so to move into a newly built house with bathroom was a treat. No central heating though, no fridge, had to wait and work for those. Its hard to be sympathetic with some young people today, who think they are hard up but in my eyes they squander money, spending enough on a coffee and cake to buy the makings of three or four dinners! Another rant over!
