Hi this has been discussed on here many times before so have a look at the link.

healthunlocked.com/search/s...

It has not been accepted as a treatment by the NHS for copd and is only in it's infancy as there is no proper scientific evidence it works. I believe there are some clinics especially in the USA where you can pay to have it done but it is very expensive. x

Hi, I have done a fair amount of research on this via emails I've been all around the world.

As far as I know 2 members of the forum have had the treatment, unfortunatelt 1No died recently having gone to Thailand for treatment at around £30,000 flights, accommodation & hospital treatment , he lived in the UK. Another member had the treatment about 18 months ago and was begining to feel the good effects after around 3 months he was living in the USA, haven't spoken to him for a while but the effect was far more positive & cost around $8,000 US plus one would have to buy flights & accommodation which would always depend on what time of year you went. there are about 25 centres over there that perform the treatment. Try "Clinical trials connect" for a list of areas. BUT they always advertise for persons within a 75mile radius so you would have to book into a hotel fairly near. worth researching tho'.

The other area that do this sort of treatment is Germany try" what clinic" or "newsletter@Ticeba.com" for some details.

Unfortunately I've had to drop the idea as NO centre takes on persons with a cancer,

A lot of the info I collected was therefore useless & has been thrown away., but with some research there are details out there, be careful with Ukraine ones which appear to operate as a Swiss company. Another area that apparently does this treatment is India (they do have a good reputation) but I do not have any details. There have been members of the forum that have had Valves or Coils fitted thro' English hospitals generally based up North. You could try for a trial at The Royal Brompton in London, they have a few specialists there look for "clinical trials UK".

Other than that I've tried 3No English based specialists who don't take on anything that maybe risky.

Hope some of this helps but do be careful of the areas, they are happy to take your cash but slow to put anything right. Germany & USA are probably your best bet but this treatment is expensive without guarantees.

I'm a 68 yr old female and live in the US. I have Bronchiectasis with asthma. I was diagnosed about 8 yrs ago, but have had breathing issues since my late 30s (mis-diagnoses).

I had stem cell treatment 2 1/2 yrs ago at The Lung Institute here in the states. I did not notice an improvement for about a year.

Before the treatment it got to the point that I was always tired, coughing and had continuous congestion. I had numerous lung infections/pneumonias, ER visits, hospital stays and bronchoscopies (the last 2 years before the stem cell treatment, I had 5 bronchoscopies each of those 2 years). I was always out of breath.

Since the treatment, I have had no pneumonias, ER visits, hospital stays or bronchoscopies. I have been able to decrease my meds, went from 40mg of prednisone per day (and still feeling miserable) to 5mg every other day. Went from using my nebuliser 4 times a day to 2 for maintenance. This past year, I have had colds that I have been able to fight off with over the counter meds (normally I would need antibiotics). I normally don't have an issue with shortness of breath now when going about my normal activities, but if I'm going up and down stairs a lot, for example, I do get out of breath. Just walking is not a problem.

I can't say for sure that it was the treatment. Because 3 yrs ago I retired from a stressful job (but a job that I loved). I would put my job before my health. 2 1/2 yrs ago we moved to area of the country that has less air pollution (moved to be closer to family). Also being on this forum for close to 3 yrs, I have learned to be proactive about my health, try alternatives to prescribed meds (I take turmeric every day, in the past I also was taking Manuka honey).

You can go the The Lung Institute website and get more information.
