I don't think that they are tame, more like used to certain people, but Stags can be a bit challanging and extremely aggressive during October, the height of the rut (mating season) best give them a wide berth then, also the hinds are likely to attack dogs when calves are present. I quietly ignore them all and have had no problems so far. Still carry a heavy blackthorn stick though.
Beautiful sight to see!! I've been out and about in the highlands for years and seen a lot of deer but never as relaxed as those are !! It's the rear view I mainly see lol as they scarper. Thanks for posting the pic x
