Thank you to all those caring people who have reacted to my post. I am feeling so much better. Besides reporting him I have written to this doctor to try and explain just how he made me feel. Perhaps he will think twice before speaking to anyone else in that way.

I think it was an excellent idea to write to the doctor. Hopefully he was unaware of the effect his words had on you and he will change his manner.
My eldest son went to an interview for a job as a store manager. He didn’t get the job and in the feedback he was told that his manner with other members of staff was brusque and not very positive! He hadn’t realised how he was speaking to people and he changed his ways and has gone on and had a very successful career. Hopefully your letter will have the same effect on your doctor!
Well done, hope he thinks twice about his manner with patients in future!
