Applications Please.... ๐Ÿ‘

Hi Guys

Iโ€™m more Emphysema based COPD, I think.

Anyway Iโ€™m after suggestions, recommendations or pointers to any walking based โ€˜Appsโ€™, iphone based, that can monitor and record data from country strolls, excursion down to the shops and general where have I been and at what pace.

Iโ€™ve trued a couple, one just shouted faster faster and tried to sell running shoes, nik what I was looking for, and the other one was just a bit too, pasty.

So to sum up, any suggestions for map based timing apps that are not to pushy for a guy with COPD.

Thanks for your time, Iโ€™m looking forward to your replies, Simon ๐Ÿ˜

Best one I have come across is the six minute walk test app from play store. Sadly only on android.

A good one for Gps and heart rate for iphone is one called FITIV. It is a trial for a short time ...no ads...and only 9.99/yr when trial is up.

If you can afford one get a fitbit does not have to be the most expensive they start quite cheaply. I have one and its great tells me how many steps I have taken in a day how many hours I have slept or been awake in the night, my heart rate etc. I thought it was well worth the money.

I spent most of yesterday looking at and comparing, mulling over this and that.. oh and for a few quid more it does this and... wow it can monitor how healthy my sleep is, print out a map of my route.... and hold over 3000 songs ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜…

Fascinating how technology for all this is stored and actioned from such a small device on the wrist, I bet 50 years ago you couldโ€™ve strapped it to the side of a rocket and it would have found the moon ๐ŸŒ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Any way still undecided but I feel as though Iโ€™ve had a great mental workout ๐Ÿค“

Iโ€™ll post my decision, hopefully, soon.

Best Wishes

We have a facebook group for people with copd (various stages) & have a Fitbit. I set challenges for us all & we encourage each other to be as active as possible facebook.com/groups/1587237...

iPhone has a built in app. It's a square with a red heart on it and says health underneath.

It includes a step counter and options to monitor Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness and Sleep. You can also create a medical ID.

Overall not bad for free.
