I sm having an operation 25th May on my neck-it involves making incision in front and reaching upper cervical this way-to remove a disc and do a ine level fusion called an ACDF.
I put it off two years ago but need it done now-the op mught set me back and interfer with my Osophogus which they move aside-it can swell a bit due to bruising-everyone recovers diff but worried about breathing-they said at Hsp If im clear of infection etc it will be ok.
Any thoughts in how I might improve my outcomes and breathing? My oxygen levels are a bit low at 93 but I need to do deeper breathing? Any tips or breathing gadgets you have used and can recimmend?
Thanks everyone

Firstly, good luck with the op. I have had this op without any probs. I had a very sore throat initially but no problems with my breathing. The anaesthetists are well used to dealing with a whole range of issues so don’t hesitate to mention any concerns so that they can reassure you. All the best.
