Hi could i get long tearm sick pay i find working now is very hard it starts bringing me to tears i am a cleaner and it is hard work at the university were i work .my c.o.p.d is severe

Yes, your GP should be able to give you one that will last a number of months. The products you use in your cleaning job are likely to be making your breathing worse as well. Ask your GP about that. Aerosols, strong perfumes are the usual culprits.

I think you need to look at your work contract, some employers pay sick pay, some don't, some state 'at managers discretion', some pay for a certain length of time & then you have to claim statutory sick pay which isn't enough to live on. Are you a member of a union you can seek advice from? Good luck to you. P

Peeve, you’re right sometimes employers pay you off after about six months sick could take early retirement worth thinking 🤔 about, tnx ciao.
