hepatopulminary syndrome

Hi, i'm new here and have recently been diagnosed with the above condition, basically my liver is very scarred and not processing my blood properly, causing very low blood oxygen. I have been put on 16 hrs oxygen, which has helped my blood levels.

Is there anybody else on here with this condition? I'd love to talk to someone who is in the same position as me.

Hello Athame123 . Welcome to the forum. Is this very rare? I have never heard of it. I don't have the same condition but I hope you can find others that do. Sending best wishes.

Hi Athame123, I'm sorry to hear about your illness... from what I have read online hepatopulmonary syndrome doesn't seem to be very common. I am waiting to find out if it is what's causing my low blood oxygen levels. Can I ask did it take a long time for your diagnosis to be confirmed?

Sorry it's taken so long to reply to your text, but I have only just found it. The doctors thought my breathlessness was caused by heart problems and took a year to decide it wasn't.

I have been waiting over 3 years to find out the reason for my low oxygen levels... have sent a private message.
