Hi Bobby141084
We have a benefits advisor on the BLF Helpline who'd be more than happy to have a chat with you about your options.
Give us a ring on 03000 030 555 ( 9am-5pm Mon-Fri) and we'll arrange for a call for you.
Kind regards,
Ben

You can also check out the .gov website. click on any of the benefit links on the right of page to read further if you may qualify.
there is also PIP each benefit comes with information on who may qualify.
Hi if you are fit to work you claim JSA. If you are not fit then you claim sickness benefit which is called ESA. You can also apply for PIP which is a stand alone benefit which means you can get it whether you are working or on any other benefits or none at all. It is based not on what illness you have but the effect it has on you. It is not usually taken into account when working out other benefits and is not usually taxable.
For more info on benefits have a look at the Gov.UK link. x
If you have been diagnosed with severe you should be able to get esa and pip x
Thanks guys
BUT if you have a partner who is working their wages will be taken into consideration which means you may get little or nothing ..
Hi bob your local doctors should have a welfare rights person who can help you if you have severe copd I’d put back in for it,but try and get a portable oxygen concentrater from your community nurse saying you’re struggling to walk far 30 yards. Good luck if not you’re docs try local library. For w/rights
Will do
