How do I lower co2 levels to help manage COPD SOB?
Please take medical advice about the hydrogen peroxide use. If your CO2 levels are too high this is something else to discuss with your doctor. S/he may recommend a machine to use at night but one of the symptoms of COPD is breathlessness regardless of CO2 levels. It sounds as though you are trying to manage it on your own and if so I strongly recommend you see a medic.
Thank you I am. I’m just waiting for this chest infection to clear up after this round of levaquin so I do better on the pulmonary function test
Speak to your consultant about CO2. I was diagnosed last year I have severe COPD I wear a mask at night for c02 and it helps. Sometimes I top up during the day and it really does help. Been using for a year. The hospital will provide youbwithba machine and mask. And you usually go for check ups every 6 months. My consultant since during cpap machine for c02 and help and support I maybe able to have the operation next year were they put camera down and clip in coils so I have fingers crossed I will stay as I am no more chest infections. He didn't really explain what quality of life will be like if I have coils had anyone had this done.
I am sorry but I must agree with Mrs Mummy. I would not be in the same room as this substance let alone nebulise it in any strength. There as been no research carried out on the affects mainly due to various regulatory bodies believe it is too dangerous to carry out any trials. The vast majority of so called research and blogs etc are nonsense. I am sorry to say that reading your post fills me with absolute horror. I do not wish to offend in any way but give you a totally honest view.
How can a blog be nonsense? It is hundreds of reviews from people using it. Also you wouldn’t be in the same room with H2O2? It causes a little oxidation stress . edited by moderator
Basically please show your scientific research. A blog is not research in any way shape or form. However it is your lungs so I only state an opinion.
Do your own research
I’m no doctor but I LOVE to learn and research. While most people read fiction I’m out there learning about everything :-). Listen pulmonary doctors all they do is monitor your regression and prescribe long acting puff dilators they’re NOT treating the issue and the issue simply is we have all damaged our lungs one way or another
Hope this helps

peroxide is used to bleach hair .
you must have heard of the saying peroxide blonde if somebodys overdone it.
I agree with bad bessie
To be honest I’ll take my chances nebulizing H202. When it comes to a possible pneumonia cold or flu or anything that can cause an exacerbation. Nebulizing h202 to neutralize viral or bacteria is worth it to me. [edited]
I think saline nebs would do more good. At least it will kill the bacteria a d help to remove mucus
Just to reiterate that there are no guidelines in the UK for this sort of treatment.
I would strongly recommend discussing this with your GP.
