Sad and confused

42 yr old. Just finished my 2nd half Marathon in 2 hrs. Went to doctor cause of my tiredness. Was sent for sleep study. Diagnosed with sleep apnea, leaky heart valve and copd? I have no symptoms of copd. The day before my breathing test I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. I’m so confused😔

I can see how you you are confused. It is a shock to the system to get so much information, and not very positive at that. I am sorry, these things always seem to come in clumps. 😐 It takes time to figure out how and what will be done to help you. Please take it a day at a time. All of us here plonk along slowly and navigate our way through with the help of family and our supportive friends here and elsewhere.

If you feel you have reservations about your diagnoses, I would encourage you to get a second opinion. Please do come here often. Getting support is key to managing and learning more. Feeling overwhelmed is natural.

Sounds like you overdid it..when we get tired our immune system is low and we are more prone to catching infections unfortunately..

Take it easy now, plenty of fluids and rest..

Hi - Such a lot to take in for anyone and definitely a shock to the system! We are all different but I like to read up as much as I can about the diagnosis. Then I know which questions to ask when next I see the doctor. Perhaps after you have completely recovered from the pneumonia, it would be a good idea to have another Lung Function test.
