Geez people, I can not believe how much you sound exactly like me.Thank God Im not alone with swollen belly.
Same as me.: Geez people, I can not... - Lung Conditions C...
Same as me.
Wind ???
I think people usually, though not always, mean hyperinflation PMRPete. As emphysema progresses, the lungs' elasticity declines and it's harder to expel air, leading to air trapping which distends the abdomen. I look 7 months pregnant at present
Thank you for the explanation. I take PPI's which give me shocking wind!
I take ppis too Pete but they don't seem to trouble me. Which is lucky otherwise Id be looking about to give birth.
I just remembered! We both have Barrett's.
I think I have tried all of the PPI's now, all the same, I wake up about 5am every day with terrible pains hence why I shop in Tesco's at 6am lovely and quiet!
That's right but Im so sorry yours is giving you trouble. Tesco's at dawn probably isn't a big enough compensation. Assume you've altered your diet to avoid as far as possible reflux triggers?
When I started this weight gain, I thought it was the Steroids making me eat more, now you have explained, Like you, 02 Trees, I am about to give Birth....I was 50k all my adult life which is a long time, now I am trying to fight to stay under 66k so I can stay on the Transplant List. Now Breathe after all this Talking.....Best Wishes to you XXX Carolina XXX
My large stomach isn't associated with weight gain Hacienda - in fact the reverse, I struggle to keep my weight on like many with emphysema. So I have a pregnant tum on a skeletal frame lol.
Thanks for your reply 02Trees, I too have Emphysema/Hereditary, and lost weight about 8 years ago, not realising my condition then, my old photo's show the muscle waste, though I didn't see it, I also used to eat loads of bananas to increase my weight, at one time being under 7 stone, then getting to 8 stone and staying there for many years, so always a size 10. It is only since my Diagnosis and especially steroids and Oxygen that I have developed this huge Tummy.(size14/16 now). We Laugh and say the Oxygen is Bloating me. xx
