Hi stem cell therapy is still considered experimental in this country and I doubt whether any reputable doctor will carry it out. This has been discussed in here a few times before and if you put this in the search box all the previous responses will come up.

Thank you so much for your reply.

You are welcome. I know there are clinics in Florida mainly who do it but it is very expensive from what I have heard and there are no proper studies to show it's effectiveness.

I have done so many searches ie Chinese scientist made a major breakthrough in repairing lung with stem cell info on (people's Daily Online) 13/2/17 at Shanghai East Hospital China.

I just want someone to confirm that stem cell therapy is safe and recommend place so I can take my husband, Dr told us only 16% of his lung are working

thank you for having me on your group

Freda

Hi Freda like I said stem cell treatment is not licienced for use here and is only in the experimental stages anyway. There are a couple of people on here who have had it done and who can say if it's helped them or not? Not me.

No one can guarantee it is safe though or it works. Have you looked at other options? Maybe coils or valves? If he is under a certain age he could be eligible for a lung transplant.

hi Freda.. thank you for the article in the people's Daily.

i found it very interesting and even got a positive vibe or two from it..though i couldn't fully work out how significant there breakthrough is yet as i haven't been able to find there report that was printed in the medical journal nature... fingers crossed that when i do find it it will be something that will really be what we all need. and it will soon be available as a treatment.

i think its fair to say that the scientists who claim this breakthrough also claim that they are the frist to have to done so.

yes its difficult to find there report once you do please inform me as well, I have Email Reacher in concern but no response yet. I am hoping they contact

I have read through the post lilaclil provided, very interesting with varied opinions. Like the original poster rbroome684 says there are so many naysayers about Stem Cell treatments. He posted it out of the goodness of his heart (I hope it hasn't put him off to keep us posted). It's so baffling to me how people could be so against it just because what their own doctors say (doctors/ experts cannot say anything "outside the box" in fear of legal claims). The fact that patients are getting better (like Beth1949) doesn't "count". If you are feeling better then you should know. // This reminds me of the Ashya King case where the parents were being arrested because they did not want chemotherapy + radiotherapy for their son and opted for Proton Beam Therapy (BTW, he is now doing well). If a patient has faith in the conventional treatments (even if they kill them) then by all means (just don't impose on others) I'm not a chemo fan but I wouldn't try to stop others (their choice). Thanks for that case, we in the UK have progressed since (new machine). // asfaan_abs, please come back and let us know how the Stem Cell therapy goes (can't wait for the update). Wishing your husband a full recovery. Enjoy the trip!

i did spend hours looking through medical journal nature on line and didnt find what i was looking for.. i didnt realize there was so many clinics world wind that made climes that stem cell treatment improved the quality of life of lung suffers.

i have and you have no way of knowing if this new breakthrough in Shanghai is genuine or not. if you feel that its worth taking the chance then talk it through with your hasburn.

for me..i would still like to see some evidence of there breakthrough.

shame really as i quite liked the idea of revisiting Shanghai as i have some very fond memories of it.

all the best and take care.
