Nobody can guess the result but I wish you luck with it. :)

Yes it can bingomick but there are no guarantees. You will just have to apply. It might be helpful to contact a benefits expert from Welfare Rights, CAB or DIAL for some advice.

Good luck.

There should be a disability organisation near you so why not ask them to help? They are experts at filling the forms in.

Do fill the forms in, but write out what you are going to say on another piece of paper first. Get help if you need it and don't rush. Don't be brave either, always consider your worst days, even if it goes against the grain. If it is anything like the DLA form they will ask you the same question in different ways. I have never been able to work out whether the compiler does it deliberately or is just totally unimaginative, but just answer it in the same way. You deserve the help, and have paid all your life for it. When I first applied I realised that between us my husband and I had paid three months of my benefit in one month's NI contributions! Good luck

When I applied for Attendance Allowance I was advised to ask AgeUK for help, one of their people came to my home and filled out the form with me. I was awarded the higher amount. They know the way to answer the questions to the best effect. Keep smiling.

Hi, The only people that can give you a definitive answer is the Dept of work & pensions, be patient they will get back to you. Mine took at least a month, they decided on the level of financial assistance they thought I needed and the monies/claim came thro' also back dated to when I made the claim. It's not a great deal but every little helps. When you get read thro' the info as you will find there are other benefits you can get, subject to T & C.

Did mine through CAB entirely and it was successful. I had a reply within days and it was back dated.. I found the forms simply too complicated and ambiguous. Best of luck
