Hi

Was wondering how long you go without your inhalers before taking the test? I'm only on Fostair but was told that it had to be at least 12 hours since my last dose. Mine was done 15 hours after my last dose.

Thanks

Sinclair

yes the 12 hours are right, so 15 hours is great.

I think it depends how severe your copd is. What they want to see by stopping them is what you would be without them. But for people who are severe it can be dangerous to stop them - I haven't been asked to stop inhalers for many years.

I have had tests after taking inhalers and after not taking inhalers. This is at the QE in Bham and they aren't bothered. It does beg the question 'if they don't make any difference to the tests why are we taking them?'
