I am so sorry. I think they should have made it clear what was happening, and not left you wondering what was going on.

How awful for you to be left in limbo like this. I'm so sorry.

There is an old saying that knowledge dispels fear. When I go to my GP or consultant I sit down beforehand and list the question I want to ask. Like most people I do not always take all the information in.

There are two ways of looking at this. One is to say oh no! I am going on oxygen the other is to think being on oxygen may improve my quality of life!

I have no experience of oxygen except in hospital but I have seen posts on this site about people who had worries about going on oxygen and found it actually improved their situation. Hopefully somebody will come along that as been in your situation and tell you about their experiences.

It's not going on oxygen that bothers me when I said I've heard you can go years on it she said not necessarily was she hinting at something thinking I don't want to know I live day to day usually going on rehab wondering if it's that bad why bother

Maybe she was just letting you know that for some this is a short term intervention and then is no longer needed as the oxygen levels improve. :)

Hi Margie2553, your posts suggest you may benefit from joining another site as well as this one, that can specifically help with your depression. There are a couple of sites on HU. Try healthunlocked.com/depressi... or healthunlocked.com/anxiety-...

I found going on oxygen was not the problem its trying to not trip over the cannula and break my neck. I have been on ambulatory oxygen for four years now and it has allowed me to things and go places I had to give up. I agree some days its so hard to get some motivation to get going in fact I stopped replying to posts as I found I had nothing nice to say but that phase started to go and now I do comment now and again.

Time moves on and it has been decided that I might be in need of more oxygen at home now so will have an home assessment next week. I failed a test for plum. respiratory classes on Monday in fact didn't quite manage the filling in the form. I have decided to become the captain of my ship again and do a bit of nifty steering and find a lovely island to rest on. so off to by a walker that I can hang my oxygen from so that I can stagger around the shops.

Not sure that this reply will be of any use to you but hope you get on well with your oxygen and there is always a little brightness just sometimes it don't half hid itself away.
