I'm back but feeling Bad. Had Chesty cough for about 5 weeks and its draining me.

I'm back but need help.!!!

I've had a Chesty cough for about 5 weeks and its draining me. I've been on 3 different types of antibiotics, steroids and still got the Chesty cough. I've just had a chest xray and done a spit test which had a bit of blood in it so I'm waiting for the results.

I've pain in my ribs which I've been told by doctor is because of all the coughing that I've bruised my ribs. The doctor took my blood pressure which was a bit low.

I've the added problem that my dad has been in hospital for about 16 weeks, he caught an infection which meant we had to wash our hands and wasn't allowed to touch him or any of his things. Hes being tested for MRSA.

Can anyone help and give me any advice. I've also noticed my Emphysema has got worse. Thank you

I'm sorry to hear your feeling down. I'm not surprised your feeling drained, it sounds like you have a lot going on. Try not to stress too much as this can affect your breathing. Hopefully once they've checked your sputum they will be able to give you the correct antibiotics. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. I hope everything gets sorted with your dad and he is feeling better soon as well. Please keep your chin up, I know it's hard but things will get better x
