I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis about 7 years ago. This looks like a good site for information sharing, really useful.

Angelgran,

Welcome to this forum. I have been here for over two years and have learned and shared a lot of tips on managing bronchiectasis. I was correctly diagnosed about 5 yrs ago, but have been having breathing issues for close to 30 yrs.

When I came across this forum, I was at a low point in managing my Bx. What I learned, from this forum, is;

If what meds you are taking, are not working, talk to you specialist.

Some doctors don't know everything about Bx.

Try changing your diet. You may have an unknown food allergy that is causing an increase in mucus production.

Posturing and breathing techniques to help bring up the mucus and help with shortness of breath.

Some people get help with essential oils.

Take certain vitamin and/or minerals. I take Turmeric and Ginseng every day. Also, Manuka honey (when I remember to take it).

Exercise if and when you can. It helps to be active to help break up the mucus.

The list goes on and on.

Welcome again, Beth
