Azithromycin problem.: Hi, I am taking... - Lung Conditions C...
Azithromycin problem.
G'day Sukirose3.........Azithromycin is An antibiotic used to treat or prevent bacterial or mycobacterial infections and is commonly used for organ transplantees. If you are experiencing any discomfort contact your medical provider.... Dr or hospital. The coughing may be coincidental and not due to the meds...better to get it checked out....Best wishes
Thank you for you reply,I will be visiting the Dr after the bank holiday
Smart move Sukirose...we are mostly lay folk on here and whilst we can tell you of our own personal journey...we are NOT medically trained....Always consult with your Dr / hospital and PLEASE whatever you do...do not use Dr Google...can be a great aid but can be out of date and also mis-diagnose.....Best wishes
Thanks again Snoopy, some times it's just good to talk to some one who has similar problems.
If the cough and pain are very different to your usual with bronchiectasis then you really need to get checked out. Azithromycin 1 3 times a week is, I expect you know but may not, is used as a prophylactic and is not a treatment. They are used to dampen down infections but cannot always prevent them. After 6 weeks I would get this checked out.
Let us know how you get on.
love cx
