That is so nice, just reading the title made me smile....My favourite place on earth is a beach. The only place I can feel myself relax so thank you for sharing.

Good old Norfolk UK but only close enough on odd occasions these days and no it is not really warm even on a hot day unless you find a really sheltered spot.

I,be never been one to sit around on the beach but when I was healthy we would go to the coast often evening when it was empty and walk and listen to the waves.

I always hoped we could retire to the coast but prices rocketed so no chance.

I'm in Hampshire new forest area village called Hythe...iv never been to Norfolk but we are biking and touring the UK this year as I have stopped work now ..so we may get that way doing Cornwall and Devon first ..but I could sit on the beach anytime and watch the ships ...and just listening to the waves .

Love the New Forest area :)

Also looked at Isle of Wight for property but it was a few years before we retired and by the time we did prices were up.

To be honest there is not much shipping to be seen around our coast unless you go to Gt Yarmouth area and watch container ships in and out of the harbour but any beach where I can hear the sea does it for me.

I have friends who live in Buds Cornwall, they can open a window and hear the sea.... Fantastic !

I,m sure you will love Devon and Cornwall...Wish I was s doing that trip.

Ah from my local beach you can see the isle of Wight I go to lepe and calshot there about 5 mins in the car ...property prices are ridiculous and I feel going to get worse ..i feel sorry for today's young ones buying it's a tough market ... iv been to Devon and Cornwall there beautiful parts of the world ..do you get down this way or to Cornwall often xx

Very rarely these days sadly...Last holiday on IOW six years ago...longer for Cornwall and I miss both sooo much.

Hoping that we can visit our friends in Buds this year but we shall see.

Glad you can make the most of being near the sea even if some days it must be from the car...That is still good.

Take care
