I don't know what your problem is, Lenney. If I suggested things it would be no more than guessing which isn't helpful.

Sometimes you can get these aches and pains if you're low on some of the trace elements in your blood. I'd go to your GP, see what he thinks and maybe ask for a blood test. Sue x

The cramps may be caused by the inhalers you are on. I get them every night in my toes & feet & I know it is a side effect of the medication. Could the disruption to your sleep be the cause of your tiredness? I suggest you see your GP, they may be able to give you an immediate answer or do blood tests as Watfordgirl says.

That's really interesting PenelopeS as I'd not heard of our inhalers possibly being the cause of night time toe and leg cramps. Something else to quiz my Doctor on my next visit.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend with your family.

i used to get that too Lenney. A friend recommended good quality tonic water with natural quinine in it and I haven't looked back. I just got it from the super market and I bought that Fever Tree tonic water but I'm sure there are others. I was also recommended magnesium so you could try that. :)

it's a pain, literally lol! throwing yourself out of bed squealing is not what you need in the middle of the night :)

It's agony isn't it? Have you tried stretching your calf muscles? I stand on the bottom step of my stairs with the back part of my foot off the step, drop my heels down for maybe 5 seconds. Repeat a few times, building up to 20. Really good for the calves. But also get some blood tests done as it could be low potassium or magnesium, or your liver function

I normally lie on the floor & push my toes against the wall

Oh and I read that if you sleep on your stomach hang your feet over the edge of the bottom of the bed so your feet hang down as it stretches your calf muscles out. There was advice for other sleeping positions too but as I sleep on my stomach that's the only one I can remember. lol!

I get cramps in my ribcage and hands for some reason. I have started to drink coconut water which has electrolytes in it and also magnesium tablets. Not sure but I think it's working. Also it could be down to dehydration, drink plenty of water. And as metioned before,Quinine i.e tonic water,is good for easing it.

Good luck.

Drinking some tonic water before bedtime is working for me.

I totally agree, me too, it's agony and so annoying.

To get rid of your cramps at night, drink half a tumbler of Indian Tonic Water about an hour Before you retire to bed.

Thank you. Is it right that it's an effect of the inhalers?

Try half a glass of Indian tonic water before you go to bed. It's very helpful for cramps.
