I've never heard of banana cake, Aidi-Joll. Is this cake popular in New Zealand ? I ask because of the 'NZ cream' mentioned in the name.

I love Banana Bread and make it a lot.

Banana Cake is an all-time NZ favourite!

It was easier to write NZ Cream Banana Cake for the photo label.

The recipe does contain a little milk or cream, and fresh whipped cream for the filling with fresh sliced bananas. The topping may be left plain, dusted with icing sugar or my favourite is a mild lemon icing with a touch of natural banana oil extract.

Your cake looks lovely. I must admit I wouldn't of thought of making a banana cake with filling only usually think of bananas being used in a banana loaf. Think I might give it a try next time I have some mushy bananans.
