Morning to you, l personally take it from the start of the chest infection and Pete is generally unwell for 3-4 weeks. Everyone is different though so this is just how things affect Pete.

Take care xxxxx

Hello Ol-ly 11 , I think the battle for the fitness level you were at begins as soon as you feel better. It can take months depending on how ill you've been. Hope you are feeling much better, huff x

Hello ol-ly11,

I don't think anyone's ever told me. I assume it's from when you finish your antibiotics. And huff is right - how long it takes depends on how ill you've been. I have been told to allow six weeks for your breathing to get back to normal.

I hope you're all right? Sue x

Thanks Sue. Breathlessness is still an issue and nearly 5 weeks since antibios. I have been told will take weeks but hospital won't define. Think the pseudamonis infection was very bad so will try and be patient! Doing the exercises and gradually increasing. How are you?

I suppose it takes longer to get over major surgery than a minor op, and there's no reason why a similar thing wouldn't happen with infections. The more ill you are etc. . . . And pseudomonas can be nasty.

I'm ok thanks, ol-ly. About three weeks since I finished the third lot of Abs. I'm sure exercising is the answer but I can't manage long at all! x

you should notice some improvement by time antibiotics /steroids finish if no improvement at all you may need another course of them , some times I have had to take 2 or three lots ,but can take weeks to be fully back to your self

Hello ol-ly11 . Well I think it is case by case. My last really bad infection it literally weeks. But that doesn't mean it will be the same for you.

I hope you feel better very soon.

I was in hospital over Xmas for 9 days and when Im that ill th I need hospialisation it knocks me right off my feet.I struggle towak and it took me a couple of weeks when I got home to be able to go upstairs without help. Im feeling a lot better and getting out for short walks with my wife and our dog, though I find the cold wind a problem. Hopefully some warmer weather will allow me to increase teh distance walked.
