I've been told Yakult benefits respiratory problems. But I read best to avoid dairy products. I'm confused.

Yakult and Copd
Thanks. You have confirmed what I knew before what I was told about Yakult.
Hi
Reading matter for you.
nhs.uk/Conditions/probiotic...
Yakult as a high sugar contest 2.5 teaspoons per serving.
Probiotics can assist your immune system - allegedly - but you'd need to drink an awful lot daily to get enough probiotic to do any good. If our lungs are compromised then we need to try for a decent immune system to give ourselves a fighting chance with colds n coughs becoming infections.
Personally I get mine in capsule firm from a well known high street health food store.
Yakult & the like are expensive gimmicks & make the manufacturers & supermarkets a lot of money π
Hi dairy food doesn't increase mucus but it does make it thicker and harder to cough up. The way round it is to eat a bit less of it and drink lots of water (not coffee, tea or alcohol). This will thin it down and make it easier to bring up. x
I bought two, rather expensive tubs of those probiotics from Holland and Barrett's. My stomach was like a volcano, ready to erupt !!!
Tried to give them to a relative and she said, no chance, they would flare up her IBS. I have that too but, I thought they would help it.
Same thing happened with the flaxseed capsules.
They ended up in the bin.
