Yes I was diagnosed with copd many years ago. In the last five years emphasemia was added and the last two bronchiectasis. Many people on here who will give you a lot more information they will see your post in the morning.

Yes you can have copd and bronchiectasis I have both I'm 36 I have wild copd, respiratory type 2, bronchiectasis, asthma stage 3 all this are connected and I saw my X-ray due to scaring to my lungs I have got more worse you can do it all it takes to maintain it and your good any ups and down or anything extra will trigger it hope it answers your question I'm foxy by the way take care

I have asthma, COPD and bronchiectasis.

I have tablets, nasal spray and inhalers for asthma, inhaler for COPD and do daily postural drainage exercises for the bronchiectasis. Over the past year I had monthly exaccerbations / chest infections so was regularly taking antibiotics and steroids too, so have now just started medication to slow down the bone thinning caused by the steroids.

I have not had an infection since the beginning of November and am feeling very pleased about that!

I think it's important to get as much information as you can about the different conditions and how they affect you. The BLF has great info available and others on this site have phoned to speak directly with someone and found that helpful too.

COPD covers emphysema and chronic bronchitis, which are both diseases which obstruct the airways. Bronchiectasis is a widening of the airways and yes, both conditions can exist at the same time. Welcome to our community.

Hi Evon67,

That's a yep from me as well, bronchiectasis in my lower lungs, copd in my upper lungs and asthma all over ain't life fun.

I'm seriously thinking of seeing if I can be eligible for a BAFTA for all the overacting I do when having to take all the medication and nebulising during the day but as much as I get fed up with the daily round it keeps me going.

I have both C,O,P,D, BRONCHIECTASIS I Had nasty bleed with bronchiectasis was very nasty went in hospital since had few infection so had to go into hospital . but soon get you working right .Was a big one that came up so don't think for min its healed
