It can take a while depending on circumstances - if you're still feeling poorly then maybe go back to gp. If it's lack of energy after the infection, try to be patient with yourself, take it steady, eat as well as you can and, if you're up to it, try a little gentle exercise. Hope you begin to feel better soon x

Two weeks with a chest infection is quite a long time - you won't bounce back straight away. Take things gently but if you're not improving after the weekend it might be an idea to go back to your GP just to be checked over. And take a sputum specimen to be sure the infections cleared up properly.

Be well. Sue x

I've had 3 months on and off with a chest infection- 3 course of antibiotics -two 5 day prednisone tablets- starts end of winter -August-in Australia- I only have mild bronciectasis but infection triggers my asthma of course-- luckily my fev1 is 90%. No colds for the six months of summer! Hope it ends soon- this would be the 14 th week! So 2weeks doesn't seem long to me -I'm 73 however.

Repeated chest infections are horrid, mardi but Gerard's point was that after two weeks of meds he still didn't feel well. Not quite the same as 'on and off' infections.

Hope you get over yours soon. Sue

Welcome to the site, Gerard. You should feel a lot better in a week. If not, you might want to speak to gp. Do you have copd? What medication were you taking? I would give it another week. Take it easy, and feel better. Ruby🌹
