World COPD Day
Thanks Louise xxxx
I attended the BLF table in Perth Royal Infirmary, Tayside, Scotland this morning and was impressed with the display. As Chair of Tayside Bronchiectasis Support, a patient group, I am keen to involve myself and others with the BLF local Breathe Easy group, however, TaBS is or will be funded by CHSS, in all likelihood. I am concerned that this might constitute an awkward conflict of interest and would welcome any advice from Health Unlocked. Can one be a member and supporter of both charities simultaneously, especially with this mutual focus on lung disorders?
Terry.
Hi Terry,
Thanks for your message.
There would be absolutely no problem at all with you attending the local Breathe Easy group even if you are involved with another patient support group. The BE groups are open to all no matter what your involvement is with other support groups.
I hope this helps. Do let me know if you need anything else.
Best wishes,
Ben

That's very reassuring Ben and also supportive. I am grateful for your clarification. I shall pass this on to Perth Breathe Easy tomorrow when I attend their monthly meeting, to which a consultant lung specialist, Dr James Chalmers, is talking about bronchiectasis.
Terry
Excellent, I'm pleased to hear that Terry. I hope you enjoy the group meeting and the talk from Dr Chalmers tomorrow.
Best wishes,
Ben
