Responding to a members post and to all my BLF friends.
As most of you are aware and most of you have probably read my response to a fellow BLF member regarding having to have the pups eyes tacked.
I would just like to clear things up.
Myself my wife two boys aged 13 and 16 are animals mad, we have two 9 year old lurchers which were rescued, we have a rescued miniature sharpie now 4, and over the past year we have rescued 3 sharpies from a kill zone in Europe, one of the sharpies is around 70% blind, we paid all fees to have them transported from Europe to Scotland, we had all the government checks done, passports micro chips, vet bills everything.
We are not breeders of any kind, we are a family in a very fortunate position who can afford to give a group of dogs a chance at life.
I am very fortunate to have a fantastic career which allows us to have a 4 bedroom extended house with gardens so these dogs can enjoy life, and it gives us pleasure to see it.
As you know our wee sharpie Paris had 4 pups, sadly 1 of them didn't make it however she has 3 lovely wee pups which needed their eyes tacked (very common thing in this bread due to their wrinkles).
We had to have this done just now so their wee eyes could open, they might need it done again, time will tell.
When Paris was in season we took all precautionary measures, even installed baby gates at separate doors to separate her from the male sharpie, accidents happen though...
If we do sell the pups all money raised will go to a nominated dog charity to help other in need. We are very much involved in charities...
Since we have had the pups we have been looking at selling our current house, something even move bigger for the dogs.
I feel I have to respond to the BLF member and to all of you also, so no one gets the wrong idea about us, I just wish the BLF member would have contacted me direct before shouting off and accusing me of all sorts, that's life though.
PS
The pups are done well and so is Paris
Xxx

All are well and healthy thats the main thing, as I have said before hope all goes well, and that another op will not be needed.🐾🐾
I admire ur spirit I too went to an rspca overspill kennel in Leicestershire and my son picked out a jackrussell he is now10 scampi.your pets are very fortunate to live with your family.but I knew u cared for ur dogs because u noticed their problem and the puppy was taken to a vet.
I can't believe that someone would have thought ill of you David and l just want to say what a truly wonderful person you are and your family too. You are more than an animal lover, you actually care deeply and put your money where your mouth is.
Well done and hope the lovely pups are doing well. There should be more like you around. You are a star. 😘😘😘🌟xx
Hello David. I'm so sorry that you felt as though you needed to justify yourself due to someone's remarks. Anyone can clearly see from your posts that you are a true and responsible animal lover. I'm sure that we all have strong views about certain topics, but this isn't the correct forum for such discourse.
I'm so pleased that the pups are doing well and have every confidence that they are getting the best care possible.
Keep up the good work, and very best wishes to you and your family.
Thanks Pam, i wouldn't even dream of getting into an arm wrestle match with someone on an internet site, just not worth the breath from my lungs let alone the typing time lol
Time to move on, just wanted to set the record streight.
good on you david for rescuing the dogs ,its nice to know there are decent people about like you and your wife who will help to rescue animals and give them a good home and life , we all know how you love your animals and can see from the pics you put on how well they are looked after ,
I have been thoroughly enjoying the pics and regular updates of the pups. They have grown up so much and are clearly fit and well cared for.
Hopefully they won't need a second op but if they do at least you care enough to ensure it happens.
There are some incredibly cruel people in the world who treat animals as objects to do whatever they want without any consideration for the animals welfare. YOU are not one of those.
It's a sadness that you feel you have to justify the love and care you give your dogs, David. Anyone who has read your posts (which would have been a good idea!) knows about your family's kindness and compassion to your rescued furry friends..and thank you for the lovely photos. xxx
David I didn't read the posts or replies that you are referring to. You do not have to justify yourself or family to anyone. I have loved seeing your posts regarding your dogs they are beautiful. I didn't know about the breed until about 3 years ago when my nephew had one and called him Albert. My mom who was 90 at the time said he was the ugliest dog she had ever seen but when she turned away and looked back he was beautiful. I was a lover of chows and have had three over the years all of them needing an eye op when puppies same as your sharpies. Yourself and family love animals for sure. Keep posting David I for one would miss your posts.
You do the best you can for your pets & that best is pretty brilliant. X
Hello , you really don't have to justify yourself, good luck always to you and your family, your doing a great job, I have a friend who rescues just like you , Shar-pies, Great Danes, from home and abroad, I have great respect for folk like you, keep up the good work. x
Thank God for people like your good self and family who have the means and the love in your hearts to help these helpless little souls. I wish you so well in all you are doing - please carry on.
Hi David. I have read over the comments by honey bubble, it is clear that
both of you
love and have the best interests of animals in your hearts-it was just a
simple misunderstanding on both sides.
Honeybubbles had the courage to stick up for the cruelty of designer breeds & you rescue them. People shouldn't make cruel breeds -& dogs should be neutered-it's the only way to stop accidents. ! You both are amazing people & the illness is so tough- we all need to 'Love and support' ! & try to
keep the best
