Been on Seratide for about 6 months, getting disturbed sleep, lot of odd dreams, dry mouth. Get days of feeling drained and useless.

Any advice please?

I was on seretide for about 5 months, horrendous. Everything you have said plus skin tearing, bruising plus i piled on 10kg. It is a steroid and not good for you. I researched and told my doc that i wanted to change to a non steroid. He put me on spiriva, which was much better although i don't take anything now except cannabis oil.

Hi Jimmy,

I am doing ok thanks. My latest PFT showed an increase of FEV78% from 69% and i have not taken any medication other than cannabis oil since 24th December 2015.

Hundreds of COPD patients in the US are now taking it with great results and a couple of people on here have also joined me. It is an amazing plant.

I didn't get on with Seretide either. I was on it temporarily about 18 months and it gave me side effects which my GP refused to believe were anything to do with it. She gave me diagnoses of other conditions for the side effects, all total rubbish as they all went away when I stopped it. I don't normally use a steroid inhaler.

medicines.org.uk/emc/medici... . All medication comes with side effects some of the ones you are discribing are common side effects.

been on seretide since jan

noticed mouth very dry

also 2stone in weight told consultant she insists very little of steroid goes into bloodstream and said sretide not cause I'm eating less now and still putting on weight looked up side effects says one in thousand people put on weight with seretide

has anybody else had weight issues with seretide

also muscles in calfs of leg and feet lock know you have all complained about that.

Yes, all true for me too. Now on Fostair, but that seems to do the same. Wondering if there is any steroid combo with fewer side-effects?

I was on Seretide for four years and only after I came off it (it's no longer prescribed in Scotland for COPD) did I realise all the "minor" problems it had been causing me. In fact reading this thread added another one to my list - sleeping, which is so much better now but I hadn't connected that to the medication.

Hi all

The debate surrounding seretide has been interesting. I have been on this for around a year and I feel it is ok but I have nothing to compare it to. I have not put on weight and I sleep like a log and. As I live in Scotland it would appear it is still being prescribed here. I would like to be brave and try cannabis oil as Mervin has done but meanwhile I'll continue with my meds

That's interesting Jimmy1c - it was the respiratory consultant who told me that it should no longer be prescribed for COPD, only for asthma because of the pneumonia risk and if you Google Seretide Scotland, you'll find that. But....my GP knew nothing about it and said they were still prescribing it. Presumably the new advice will take a while to work through. I also thought I was ok on it but now feel lots better on a different inhaler.
