Breathing issues stressing me out

I have copd and emphysema. Was told my lungs r at 56 percent finding it hard to do my job as i have a hard job been off work dince april today dictor saud doesnt know if i will be able to go back dont know what to do uf i cant go back think im not bad eniugh for ss?

Welcome to this brilliant forum. I don't have your conditions but there are many people here with your problems who will help you with advice and support.

All I can say is that those of us with lung diseases do find ways of coping, adapting, getting the best out of what we can do.

Hi, Rbullock, and welcome to the forum. It may be worth your applying for SS - check with your local Citizens Advice Bureau and they will give you guidance about your options now your doctor has said you may not be able to go back to work.

If you're unable to return to work, you may be able to apply for ESA and PIP. I've been off work since 2013 with my lung conditions, and am currently receiving both. gov.uk will have all the info, and talk to your local CAB if you need to.

You could apply for PIP

Seek advice from CAB. Under equality act your employer must make reasonable adjustments at work to try to accommodate you. Be it different work or reduced hours.

Also be aware you can apply for PIP whether in or out of work. Again CAB will be able to help.
