French grave yard

[1968]

I took a picture of this which relates to my previous picture however I have not translated it yet, any helpers lol

It was carved in a stone at the entrance of a grave yard just behind the church.

born 2/9/1793 died 13 /4/1859

66 years old seems to have had an interesting life

I speak reasonable if a bit rustic french ,though I haven't really used it in years. My ability to translate and read and wright french is limited but I can get the gist.

With pleasure, it says,

I.J. Begin, Inspector doctor, member of the Health Council for all armies. Commandant of the Legion d’honneur (highest rank of merit in the French Army).

Born on 2nd September 1793, decease on 13th April 1859. Pray for him.
