Scared but hopeful

Hi

I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with emphysema . I am a female 64 years old. I liked this site because the posts where honest but also positive. I would appreciate any comments with people with the same condition.

Hi welcome to the site. Do you know your lung function? This is called FEV1. If you are in the mild bracket 80-90% or even in the high moderate then it won't impact very much on your life. I was diagnosed mild 7 years ago and still am at 62. My doctor told me not to worry too much as old age would get me before the copd. x
