I,m off for this procedure tomorrow ( Sat )9.15 at a hospital that does,nt work weekends according to government ,that really does,nt! Had them before when I had chronic laryngitis.Let you know outcome soon.Be good if they sort out my belly ache,getting fed up of it ( oops pun ).D.

Good luck - I do 'em without a sedative... so I can drive home myself. If they wanted a  torture that 'd make you spill the beans... Hope it goes well, enjoy your toast & tea after.

I have three with no sedative. The last one was awful. Please Farmer D. have the sedative. I clutched my expensive Armani glasses so hard, I broke them.

Good luck with that FarmerD.  I went with a friend once who grabbed the sedative straightaway.   She was so spaced out that she couldn't remember me taking her home at all!   I and another friend stayed with her which is just as well as her hubby was desperate for a drink and cleared off as soon as she got back.   x

Hope all goes well for you farmer, I had a camera down and up, well I hope it was that way round ( hope it wasn't the same camera ), I had sedation, came round as camera up was being retrieved, asked dr if it was my bowel on the screen, it was, I replied 'so I can now tell people ive looked up my own arse' can still here the peels of laughter xx

Hoping it not too uncomfortable and is over quickly.

My husband had this procedure done a few times -he wouldn't have sedation either - he wanted to be in and out and off driving.

Of course take the sedation. One of the reasons I loved having bronchoscopies was for that moment of bliss when the sedation kicked in and you felt so loose and happy. That was at my old hospital, this one is much stingier with sedation. But I did have an angiogram with 10 mgs of Valium beforehand and a small top up injection. Well, I was floating on cloud 9 and would have another one in the morning  

My stomach endoscopy person wasn't so generous and I remember trying to push her arm out of the way. I didn't want her knitting needles down my throat Upshot of that was a diagnosis of Oesophagitis, caused by Candida right through the Oesophagus. Candida caused by inhalers, steroids, nebs etc and can play havoc with the stomach. So maybe that could be affectin you too. I took anti-fungals for a while and they were a big help. 

Hope they find something that they can help you with and ease that bellyache.

Sounds similar,they did,nt give the sedation.Horrible,seem to go on and on.Oh well it,s done!D.
