This is a disease of the colon so you are unlikely to get much from a lung site. Have you searched HealthUnlocked for a more suitable community?

I have ischaemic colitis as a result of my COPD it is caused by lack of oxygen to the colon causing it to stop working. I was diagnosed with it following a severe attack in 2008 which had me hospitalised & on oxygen and a IV fluids drip for 3 days followed by a very light diet until my colon functioned correctly .

Do you have a Lung Condition luckydon ? It is very important that you keep well

hydrated and do not allow yourself to become constipated.

Best wishes

Jo :-)

Hi Luckydon & welcome. I don't have any advise or information, but if you don't have a lung condition you may not get a lot of information on this site. Try the British Gastro/ enterology Foundation, ask your GP, consultant or practise nurse for leaflets & details of support organisations. Good luck & best wishes Nan

My reply was to Luckydon. Ischemic Colitis can often be caused by lack of oxygen to the colon. I often co- exists with Lung Conditions........as do many other conditions so Luckydon may well find others who also have the condition on here. I have learnt how to manage both my Lung condition & my Ischemic Colitis.

Best Wishes

Jo :-)

Hi Jo jam. Yes I saw your response & I'm sure you have lots of helpful first hand advise. I also from my own experiences find it helpful to have other options hence my suggestions.

I think your suggestions are equally relevant but feel your original comment should not have been addressed as a reply to my comment. It should have been made as a comment to the Luckydon at the top of the page. Hence my response to you.

Best wishes

Jo :-)

I'm not sure what thus is about. My original comment was addressed to Luckydon it uses her name & welcomes her. If it appears in the wrong order then I'm not sure why. It was not intended to be a response to you. I apologise for any inadvertent confusion. Nan

No problem, it is always best to comment directly under the original post at the top of the page. If you click the reply button under a comment to the post your response will come up as a reply to that person.

Have a breathe easy day.

Best wishes
