If you have little ones in the family -

Royal Mail has a free service that will send a child a personalised response from Father Christmas. Letters should be addressed to:

Santa's Grotto

Reindeerland

XM4 5HQ

to arrive before the 4th December.

Isn't it a shame when they stop believing? A little magic lost.

Thank you for this Toci. I always order my Santa letter, and have done today from Leeds Children's Hospital Appeal. £5 a letter and you can give an additional donation if you wish - they are lovely letters.

Saw Santa yesterday. After gong through loads of grottos and some naughty elves getting the kids to chuck snowballs at us - covered we were - we went into a room and watched on screen 'cos Santa was late. He had to get the Red Devils to help get him there and skydived out of a plane. Then we saw him land at the front of the building and then the door opened to his grotto. My 4 yr old gd asked for a surprise and a little lad about 3 made me chuckle when he asked for a Dyson roller ball. All with a raaised temp, but fun. The kids then went into Santa's storeroom and could choose their own pressie. Gd chose 'shrinkies' - you colour them in, cut them out and then an adult puts them in the oven and they shrink and you can then make brooches and keyrings etc.

One snag - to get that gift you have to request an identical one for the person who gave you the address. :P
