Hi, I moved out of London this time last year and when I go back for visits I can really smell the pollution. Just embarking on my first winter in this town in a valley.

Now my lovely new neighbours light a coal fire every evening so going in my own garden or out the front I'm covering my face, Grrrr

Haven't seen anything about a trial. P

Hi Piglet, I used to travel to London once a week when I did my post grad course. I found I couldn't wear my contact lenses down there because of the air pollution. This was about a decade before I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis and I didn't notice that it affected my lungs at the time. However I think that any large city suffers from air pollution and if it is possible to limit your time there then you should for the sake of your lungs.

Most cars have a switch or slider that allows you to only breathe air from inside the car - my wife and I have been using them for years even though we live in Herefordshire where pollution is very low.
