Hi siskin, answered a similar post not so long ago, I have both of the above, but didn't have until starting Anti- TNF injections. Almost sure it was Humira, ( was quite a few years ago now). Unfortunately all my lung problems started with it. Gave me a non contagious TB for which I was on meds for about 2 years. Left cavities and scarring on my lungs and now have aspergilloma in both lungs and bronchiectasis. They should give you a chest xray before you start, so they have a base line to work from, and should check you on a regular basis. sorry don't mean to scare you I think I was just unlucky, cos had a big op on y lungs in 1989 so was probably a little bit more susceptible. Hope things work out ok.

Thank you grannyjan, have had RA 21 yrs. they said I had fibrosing alveollitis so didn't get any treatment. Now told it is not fibrosing but bronchectasis so will give me Humira have had a chest CT scan and going to have a TB test.

You haven't scared me, I appreciate your comments.

I just feel the whole thing of giving people anti TNF when there isn't a blood test to even say if you have excessive amounts of TNF is just unscientific.

I feel big pharma should be looking for causes not looking for cures.
