Got back from my wonderful holiday 2am this morning. But boiler has broken down - no hot water or heating (believe me I need it).
Fortunately I have insurance so guy came round at 2pm but needed new 'CPB' and new parts (£280) and 2 hours labour (thank goodness for my £6 per month insurance!).
But new parts needed so maybe tomorrow until we have hot water and heating???
My daughter and I have been in the same clothes since yesterday am so feel 'minging' insurance will put us up in only 'local' hotel but it is so posh I don't feel worthy.
Going to bed 'minging' but content. Our holiday with other cultures has made me feel more humble and appreciative of what we have.
I think of the gardener out there with his steel toe cap boots. He had steel toe caps but not 'leather' on his boots other than a fastener around his ankle.
We have a lot to be grateful for.
Love to all of us - where ever we come from

Great to hear you are back and had a great holiday! Xxx ps sorry about the heating etc. hope it's all fixed tomorrow xxx
Hi sokrackers, I'm glad to hear you so enjoyed your holiday, I hope the boiler hasn't spoiled the good feeling.
I know what you mean about culture shocks. I've only had one holiday abroad and I too felt humbled at their lack of things, that I take for granted. Welcome home. xx
I'm so pleased you enjoyed your holiday pity about the hot water, never mind you can enjoy a nice hot bath or shower tomorrow! Sweet dreams, good to have you back safe and sound , hugs huff xxx
Glad you had a lovely holiday SK and what a pain in the backside regarding the boiler. Hopefully, it will all be up and running very soon, possibly now?
We are lucky here and it is good to see how others live and work. You take care. Lots of love, Carole xxxxx
