Don't know kimmy, heard beetroot juice is good, will be interested in what others come up with, and how you get on, was it expensive ? Xxxx

google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid... thers a page hear kimmy,, i have juiced organic carrotts, beetroots and red apples,, and drank a glass a day,, so far im ok ,, and its ok uno,,
Sounds really good xxx
With some juicers the fibre is wasted. Best buy is the nutrition bullet. You can put anything in it to make nutritious drinks. I make nearly all "green" drinks and carrot ,Apple and ginger. No waste at all xx
Meant Nutri Bullet !
I second the Nutri Bullet. Great piece of equipment - you get the whole fruit, veg or whatever you put in it, it takes seconds to work and it's so easy to clean.
Good luck Kimmy. I'm on the "put on weight" too. I have a Nutri-bullet. Wonderful. Just put in mixed nuts, apple, kiwi. banana, peach, grapes, kale. I have a juicer too but a nightmare to wash. The nutri-bullet so so easy. Suzyxxx
Thank you. I'll get my husband to get some Kiwi and Kale got everything else, do you use Complan and powered milk.

I have Amyes milk shakes and Fortijuice. One each a day = 2 drinks a day. Suzyxxx
I'll have to look, got my dietician coming a week Monday so I want to be ready for him. I'm naturally thin never gone above 7st in my life, but of course they blame my illness.
Kim
I was always 8 stone. When first diagnosed COPD dropped to 6.12lb. Managed to get back to 8 stone. Took a year. Now back down to 7.2lb. I need to try and, at least, keep it at that for Chemo. Good luck Kimmy. Suzyxxx
What do you use to gain weight then. Hope you an keep your weight up I know how difficult it an be.
Kim xx
Really just forcing myself to eat five small meals a day. Plenty of protein cheese egg etc Butter cream. All the things I was told not to eat before.
To make myself sit and eat I would read. Bad manners but what the heck.
It can be quite depressing losing weight when you need to gain it.
I haven't weighed myself at home for weeks now. Scared to know.
Guys Hospital tomorrow Consultant and bloods. They will tell me.
Good luck Kimmy. Suzyxxx
Bless you, I know that feeling all to well. I've only ever been 6st 7 my whole life and when I was ill I lost a stone. That's why I got the Ninja Because I hope to gain weight by drinking Smoothies with all sorts of fruit nuts greens and Complan. Then if I'm ill I can still hopefully keep my calorie intake up. Do you use powered milk, mixed in with anything really.
Kim xxxx
Hi Kimmy. haven't tried powdered milk. Will give it a try. Found my juicing and smoothie recipe books today. No weight gain ones, unfortunately, some for weight loss. Typical!
Guys today Consultant and bloods. Will let you know if I have gained any weight.
Keep trying. Love Suzyxxx
Good luck for today, let me know how you get on.
My dietician told me to put powered milk with everything I can it mixes in ok, and cheese.
Kim
Whoopy kimmy gained not lost. Only 1 1/2 lbs but gained. I'm happy.
That's brilliant, were they pleased. So what are you now we'll have to keep each other up dated, I'm seeing the dietician on Monday so I'll let you know. xxx
Good luck on Monday. yes they were well pleased but not as much as me. After seeing rapid weight loss just to stop it would have made me happy but to gain something has made me more determined to keep on eating.
I'm now 7st 3 1/2 lbs. Long way to go.

Hi guys
I think it is important to buy a 'pulveriser' that mashes the ingredients as the nutri bullet does. I picked up the Hinari one in Morrisons the other day for £21 it does mash the ingredients and a fraction of the price and if I like it I will go for the expensive one when this one gives up.
You need the fibre in the ingredients that a juicer spits out. Cheaper versions may not grind the ingredients finely enough and so you get a gritty texture to your drink.
Also you can add the ingredients to the cup the night before and store it in the fridge ready for mornings if you are in a hurry.
I have started 'super greens powder' which seem to give me a little umph but don't like the taste so use capsules instead.
So many recipies out there hope you all enjoy your goodness.
SK
Thank you. I chose the Ninja on my friends advice, luckily my husbands treating me.
Kim xx
I am sure you deserve it Kimmy! LOL
Well I'm very smart I never complain about the numerous gadgets he's always buying, so he cant really say anything can he.
Kim xxx
So funny Kim
I have every gadget going both for boys and girls. I swear I have more power tools than frocks but sadly have learned not to lend them! A new neighbour was laughing at my daughter and me fiddling with a new chicken pen we built too high. Just get the jigsaw out and reduce the legs in seconds!
That took the laugh off his face. I let him borrow it and he returned it broken so suppose he had the last laugh.
Anyone need a pasta machine or a pineapple corer? I resisted the avocado slicer. Lol
A glass of carrot juice is great for you & especially for acid reflux, you can feel it sooth the inflammation. It increases mucus with me for a couple of minutes but seems to improve after.
Also has a bit of a mild laxative effect.
Carrots are great 'cos they are cheap for the amount of juice you get. You needn't bother with the extra expense of organic, just a quick wash the ordinary to get rid of any surface pesticide residue.
Top & tail them if you intend to use the fibre (the stuff left after juicing) as a great addition in soups or stews.
Always wash the machine straight after and it's easy.. leave it and it's a nightmare.
Argos 'cookwares' one was a Which? 'great value' best buy... c. £40
Best wishes
Thank you. I like carrots so that's good. Keep all the advice coming, I'm writing it all down my food shopping bill is going to be enormous.

I know what you mean about price I am seriously fighting for my 5 plus a day and can easily eat a punnet of certain fruit at 2 or 3 £s a go. But consider it an investment in my health.
Have you ever tried ground flaxseed £5 for a good bag H & B for me it does wonders for the 'output' lol which ever way it is going.
I can recommend the NutriNinja juicer. It has a 1000 watt motor and has a auto stop/start facility to allow the big bits to keep falling back onto the blades and get chopped up. The whole process is very quick and it is as easy to clean as a large glass.
